New Dwelling Project – Hardings, Colchester

Commissioned by the Local Authority to design two pairs of semi-detached 2 and 3 bedroom houses as part of their new build housing programme to meet the borough’s housing shortage.

The original site was dedicated to garages serving the original council residential properties many of which were simply not used due to modern vehicle sizes.

We were responsible to design the development and obtain both Planning and Building Regulation approvals.  We were then tasked to provide construction drawings and a full National Building Specification (NBS) specification and schedule of works ready for tender.

We then provided architectural support through RIBA stage 5 e.g. on site.

The properties were designed to the NHBC warranty provider standards and were a great success that led to other similar projects within the Borough.
