This property lies just off the Springfield Road in Chelmsford. It is a beautiful 4-bedroom detached house of circa Edwardian period.

There are many details that set this property apart from others including the beautifully maintained Flemish brick work, clay decorative freezes and two over two vertical sliding box sash windows.

The property had previously been extended in 2009 but the bi-fold doors and general detailing were less than the property deserved.

Our client, in recognising this wanted to extend and to address some of the past issues. The bi-fold doors were removed and new High quality Crittall style steel door and screen set were introduced. The door and screen set were set back from the brick work face to create the shadow line that comes with setting-back doors and windows in this way, a feature of the original windows that can be seen on the property.

The extension received the same careful treatment. In addition, the brickwork was formed in a Flemish bond e.g. Header/stretcher/header arrangement rather than stretcher/stretcher bond typical of modern Cavity walls which arguably is far blander.

The property improvements and attention to detail have transformed the property and have maximised its market value.
